Bien-Aimé Baraza Blasts Radio Hosts Over Diamond Platnumz vs Alikiba Comparison — ‘This Must Stop!’
Kenyan artist Bien-Aimé Baraza has spoken out strongly after Tanzanian radio presenters compared his new song “Finale,” featuring Alikiba, to “Happy” by Diamond Platnumz.
In a candid response, Bien made it clear that he’s not a fan of such comparisons. According to him, putting artists against each other takes away from what music is really about—creativity, expression, and individuality.
He emphasized that every artist brings something unique to the table, and that difference should be appreciated, not turned into a competition.
At one point, he didn’t hold back, calling the habit “a poverty mentality,” urging people to move away from constantly measuring one artist against another.
His reaction has sparked conversation online. Some fans agree with him, saying the industry grows better when artists are celebrated for their originality rather than forced into rivalry. Others, however, feel that comparisons are just part of how fans engage with music.
Either way, Bien’s message is clear: music should connect, inspire, and evolve—not divide.
