Larry Madowo Gains Nationwide Backing Following CNN Report on Police Fatality
Larry Madowo has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Tanzanians after thousands showed their support online, with many even changing their profile pictures on X to his image in a striking display of solidarity.
The outpouring of appreciation came in the wake of CNN’s latest investigative report, which Madowo says demanded meticulous work, courage from ordinary citizens, and a steadfast commitment to uncovering the truth.
In a video shared shortly after the report’s release, Madowo spoke directly to Tanzanians, expressing gratitude for their trust and support.
“Ndugu Watanzania, asanteni sana tena kwa jinsi mlivyo tusaidia kwa hii reporti yetu ya CNN ambayo imetoka hii leo,” he said, explaining that the investigation took longer than anticipated due to its complexity. He added that it was one of the most challenging assignments of his career, largely because of the sensitivity of the events under investigation.
Madowo went on to highlight the intensive investigative work that took place behind the scenes.
“Imechukua muda kidogo kwa sababu ilikuwa kazi ngumu. Nimeshinda nikizungumza na Watanzania waliyonitumia mamia ya video, picha…” he explained, noting that ordinary citizens played a crucial role in shaping the story.
